CK Akonnor, former coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been reported to receive a severance package of GH¢180,000 from the team management for his illegal dismissal in July, 2019.
According to a report by Kumasi-based Fox FM, the newly constituted board of directors of the club supervised the payment to the now Ghana coach.
CK was fired nine months into his three year contract and grabbed the club Player Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
The ex-Black Stars coach demanded an accumulated two-year salary, league trophy cash, and CAF Confederation Cup Group stage entitlements.
In 1999 CK Akonnor made this speach;
“I will love to do it (coaching). I have watched coaches like Sam Arday over the years and I believe there are still many young coaches around, you can see Sellas Tetteh doing it. I will love to coach one of the national teams.”
Kotoko were found guilty for breach of contract. The Ghana Football Association has appointed CK Akonnor as Head Coach of the Senior National team, the Black Stars.
