Coronavirus: 49 People Arrested In Obuasi For Flouting Directives

Some 49 people have been arrested at Akaporiso, a suburb in Obuasi in the Ashanti region for defying the president’s directive on social gatherings.

Reports reaching A2zgh.com indicates that it was an engagement which started around 2 am on April 11, 2020.

well, during the last portion of the ceremony of which item 13 was supposed to be given, the number escalated as persons not invited to the ceremony trooped in to have their share.

The couple in an attempt to defy the social gathering directive held the ceremony in a hall of which luck eluded them and got arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, the 49 people arrested by the police are currently in police custody and would be arraigned before court on Tuesday April 14, 2020.

The President in a national address on Sunday, March 15, 2020, banned all public gatherings including conferences, funerals, political rallies, church activities and other related events to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
