9-Year-Old Girl Donates Her SCHOOL MONEY To Fight Coronavirus

A 9-year-old girl identified as Oluwashikemi Ogunleye has made a general contribution towards the fight of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

This little girl willingly donated the sum of N950 to the Ogun State government as her own contribution to aid the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

This act has since been lauded by the Governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun – the governor as he made this known while speaking to journalists at his Iperu Remo residence in Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.

In his speech, he said;

“I am particularly thrilled by the small but very significant donation from the youngest donor so far, Oluwashikemi Ogunleye. She used our USSD Code to donate 950 Naira.

Oluwashikemi, I am proud to be the governor of a philanthropist like you. You are indeed the symbol of giving of ourselves to ourselves, and the future we are building together. I call on others to come forward and support the fight against COVID.”

He also took to his Facebook handle to commend the little girl. In his post, he wrote;

“Not all superheroes wear capes. Little Oluwashikemi Ogunleye, who is our youngest donor so far, used the State USSD to donate 950 Naira to the Ogun State COVID-19 Pandemic Support Fund.

Oluwashikemi followed the footsteps of leading philanthropists that have proven in our dear State so far that humanity remains intact.

I am proud to be the Governor of a philanthropist.

My personal message to you, Oluwashikemi is to continue to be generous. May Almighty God bless us through recovery from this pandemic on the grounds of your kind heart.”
