Landlord Tells Tenants Not To Pay Rent For 1 Month Because Of Coronavirus Pandemic


Nathan Nichol, who is a landlord has done a commendable act which has really generated some positive talks on social media.

Many people have heaped praises on him for what they describe as generous.

This landlord has waived off the rent of his tenants because of the Coronavirus pandemic.


According to a report by, Nathan Nichol, who owns two units in South Portland decided to give his tenants the rent relief because the Coronavirus pandemic has put his tenants in financial distress.

He has also urged other landlords to give their tenants rent relief as the U.S. grapples with the deadly virus.


He made this known in a recent Facebook post where he stated that he was about giving his tenants a break for the month of April because they will be impacted by the severe measures taken to curb the spread of the virus.

His post reads;

“COVID19 is going to cause serious financial hardship for service and hourly workers around the country, and all of my tenants are in this category. Because I have the good fortune and of being able to afford it and the privilege of being in the owner class, I just let them know I would not be collecting rent in April. I ask any other landlords out there to take a serious look at your own situation and consider giving your tenants some rent relief as well.”
