The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo disclosed in his 6th Coronavirus update that the current lockdown in Accra and Kumasi has been extended by a period of one week.
According to the President, this move became very necessary as the number of Coronavirus cases in the country increased to 378 with the number of deaths being six.
The lockdown extension will be effective on 13 April 2020.
Addressing Ghanaians, the President revealed that through contact tracing a total of 37405 samples have been taken with 31933 samples taken in Accra and the rest in Kumasi.
Out of the 37405, a total of 14611 results were out and a total of 77 people representing 0.53% tested positive for the virus.
