10 foreign tourists were made to write the word ‘sorry’ 500 times by Indian police officials.
These tourists were given this heavy punishment after they defied lockdown orders as they were seen walking in an Indian town.
India is currently locked down as residents are only permitted to leave their homes only for essential services such as buying groceries and medicine.
However, these travellers from Israel, Mexico, Australia and Austria were caught taking a walk in the town with going to purchase any of the essential services.
A local police officer identified as Vinod Sharma confirming the arrest said they were each made to write ‘I did not follow the rules of lockdown so I am so sorry’ 500 times.’
